Join Twist Out Cancer and BWC Alum, Noah Plotkin & his band, Bowmanville, for a meet up at Gallagher Way on September 28th! Dance & socialize with the members of the TOC Chicago community as you enjoy the French Market!

Hailing from Chicago, Bowmanville strives to bring the hip sensibilities of Hot Club Jazz from 1930s Paris mingled with the influences born of Chicago’s global crossroads to a wider audience. Led by violinist Ethan Adelsman, with Graham Nelson on harmonica/vocals, Noah Plotkin on drums, Oliver Horton on bass, and Mason Jiller on guitar, the group draws inspiration from diverse musical backgrounds to push the boundaries of their craft, thrilling audiences nationally. Creating a simmering synergy of vibrant bouncing sound that crackles with electric energy, Bowmanville leaves listeners always hungry for more.

See Twist Out Cancer Founder and CEO Jenna Benn Shersher speak on celebrating life's blessings.

Jenna Benn Shersher, cancer survivor and civil rights advocate, creator and CEO of Twist Out Cancer, an international non-profit that has connected artists and people impacted by cancer that has touched over 246,000 people around the world, will speak on choosing life and blessing on this Shabbat between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Jenna grew up at NSCI and is an inspiring leader and speaker.

Jenna is a 41-year-old cancer survivor who, in the course of her journey, figured out creative ways to leverage social media to process her experience and create community. Jenna founded the nonprofit organization Twist Out Cancer, which provides psychosocial support to individuals touched by cancer through creative arts programming. Over the last 11 years, Twist Out Cancer has impacted over 246,000 people through their programs and online platforms. Jenna grew up here at NSCI and cherishes her roots and her family’s meaningful involvement in our community.
