In addition to the mindfulness training we offer on our treks, we also provide free, drop-in online mindfulness meditation classes twice a month, which are taught by some amazing mindfulness instructors. You can join a class virtually using Zoom video-conferencing. Come once, or as many times as you like.
1.When are the classes? Every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month at 7:30pm Eastern Time
2. How long are classes? We try to start promptly at 7:30pm and practice together for about 30-45 minutes. After that we spend some time sharing some of our observations of things we noticed during the practice. This is called "mindful inquiry" and is sharing by choice.
3. Do I have to come every time? No, this is a "drop-in" class, so you can come once, or as many times as you like. No need to RSVP. Just show up.
4. Does this cost anything? No, this is completely free and provided by True North Treks.
5. Should I join the Zoom call muted or un-muted? We appreciate it if everyone can join the call with their mute function turned "on" , but if you have a question, please feel free to un-mute yourself.
6. Do I need to turn my video camera on? While we greatly appreciate being able to see everyone if you feel comfortable, we totally understand if you'd like to keep your camera off. You be you.
7. Do I need to have a cancer diagnosis to join? While TNT serves young adults and caregivers affected by cancer, you do not need to be a cancer survivor or caregiver to join these classes. They are for everyone!
8. What if I'm having a technological problem joining? Tech s*@t happens unfortunately, as does other life s*@t, so see if it's possible to just use this as one of your Zen master teacher moments, letting it be a reminder for you to pause, inhale, notice, allow, and maybe even let go. If you can do any of that during a frustrating tech problem moment, you may actually gain more from that than coming to the guided session!
